Part 2 of this old sci fi range from April 1979, sculpted by Pete Manning. Part 1 link at the bottom. They released three forces;
Central Galactic Force
Samain Alience Force
Zarquin Alien Force
It was a very nice range although I don't know how popular it was. I certainly don't remember it from the time although I was well aware of the earlier classic SF range they released. In the US they were released in blistered sets, something we never had in the UK. Combat 3000 seemed to be the rules of choice...

Don't forget that Dave at Caliver Books now owns the moulds and is re-releasing everything as he finds them. Go down to the bottom left under Classic Fantasy / Sci-Fi

Lovely range of figures. Sadly I ignored these back in the day being too wrapped up in their fantasy ranges. They certainly have a wonderfully nostalgic look to them.
ReplyDeleteI have a few of these somewhere - survivors from a larger force - they are very clean designs in that way that was characteristic of Minifigs. Although I didn't have any of the Xarquin, I always thought the idea was nice, and it was refreshing to have an alien race that actually looked alien!
ReplyDeleteLovely stuff, quite Flash Gordon, so if making spacecraft to go with them done forget door handles on the outside!
