Wargames Foundry - Egyptian Adventure

Tony Yates has just posted a pic of his painted Pharoah's Court from this officially unreleased range....they are available with pleading via mail order I believe and also at shows.....some lovely pieces in the range. I only picked up the mummification set at Partizan the other month but I did take some pics of the others they had on display.....thought I'd share them........

The Perry Twins Leave Games Workshop!

We are aware that there are rumours flying around that we have left Games Workshop! Thought we should set the record straight and let you all know that…we have! After 36 years, man and boy, working on Warhammer, 40K and of course, for the last 15 years LotR and the Hobbit we are now able to focus our energy on our historical ranges.This means more time to dedicate to Perry Miniatures, and of course Mr Jackson who we continue to make 54mm WW1 figures for. We had an excellent evening on Friday at The Trip to Jerusalem with GW, and ex-GW, colleagues and friends who got us very, very drunk - cheers!

I have been fans of these guys since they started working for Bryan at Citadel in the 70s. I have said this before but apparently they used to sculpt at school in lessons and sometimes got the sculpts confiscated by the teacher. Possibly a few lost Perry figures about somewhere then! They really are most prolific and certainly helped launch Citadel and Games Workshop into their prime positions back in the day. I wish them all the best and can only hope fervently that they decide to branch out into fantasy again...more Slann would be nice......

Black Hat Miniatures civilians..........

Currently on night shifts so absolutely exhausted..........these came in the post yesterday. I saw them at Salute but unfortunately Mike (Lewis) didn't have any with him on the day.....as usual it took me another 2 months to get around to ordering them. Always quick and hassle free ordering with Mike. Anyway, 2 sets of civilians hidden away in the Mutants & Madmen section....I almost missed them as there is no pic on that page so you have to click the 'Civilians' link. These are quite hefty minis, around the 35mm mark from head to toe but well detailed and full of character. They are available as packs of 5 or individually. I also have the 'Zombies' and the 'Skeletal Marines' - the latter are pictured in a group at the bottom along with an old Citadel Zombie Rambo... Black Hat also have a big range of fantasy World War 1 Goblins and Halflings that I keep meaning to pick up......one day they will all be mine.....check out the website if you haven't before as Mike has a lot of varied ranges from 10 mm Martian VSF to the old Bob Naismith Cobalt-1 range of Sci Fi figures. Well worth a punt as I often say.

I picked 2 sets of the Skeletal Marines up off Mike at Salute a few years back and actually painted them up.....the lone Citadel figure is 4th from the right.

Minifigs Gunfighters - approx 1978 but to be confirmed....

Fresh out of the dettol bath they have been in for 4 or more weeks....Minifigs (or Miniature Figurines) now belong to the benevolent Dave Ryan over at Caliver Books. Not sure if these will see production again (he is still looking through molds) but they are a sight for sore eyes as I never picked them up back in the day. I have fond memories of seeing the sleeping Mexican in an old Military Modelling at the time. Still a little white undercoat hanging on some but pretty pristine otherwise. I hope to update once I have found a listing as they are not in any of my old Minifigs catalogues....time to peruse old magazines methinks (edit 20th June thanks Paul!). I posted the Asgard cowboys by Bryan Ansell recently here and have also come across a 'wild' bunch (sorry) that I believe to be Bryan's earlier sculpts for Conquest Miniatures which, once cleaned up, I will post up.
