White Dwarf 63 - Tabletop Heroes by Joe Dever & Gary Chalk

Just grabbed a random White Dwarf magazine and realised I had forgotten how much I loved the Tabletop Heroes articles. I was always in awe of the skillset of these guys... nowadays we are spoilt for choice with printed and resin scenery but, back then you mostly had to scratchbuild unless you could afford the joys of companies such as Otherworld Artifacts. I recently picked up the Warrior's Watchtower (http://www.deartonyblair.co.uk/2021/11/otherworld-artifacts-set-9-warriors.html) and it is every bit as wonderful as it looks on these hallowed pages. Leafing through the magazine makes me remember how many small miniature companies have disappeared over the years...

You can still get most of the pirates as they've been re-released by Wargames Foundry... image borrowed with permission.

There's a few more posts on Otherworld Artifacts here including a box opening of the aforementioned Watchtower and the 1986 catalogue.

Otherworld Artifacts - Set 9: Warrior's Watchtower plus other stuff!

Well, I started a YouTube Channel and finally uploaded a clip... a big learning curve but the contents of the boxed set are lovely. It would be great if you could all 'like' the video and join the channel... give this old man some encouragement!

Lots of the ranges are listed on the WIKI of course... still some gaps though so if you have an example please let me know!

Also don't forget the Alice Kickstarter... it's stalled a bit and could really do with some love...

I did manage to pick up a couple of interesting minis including an Admins mini that I've not seen before... AD225 Manface. Came in a job lot and, as such, was a nice surprise.

The rest of the Admins ranges (or most) can be seen on the Lost Minis WIKI;

The other interesting piece was a Tony Yates sculpt that I had no idea about... he told me that it's a deamon fighter from a mould that he and Bryan (Ansell), cast up for a club he used to run. That of course means there's a lot more unknown pieces out there!

Salute in theory this weekend so there should be a post about that next week... thoroughly looking forward to it although it's a definite budget one this year.

Any thoughts give me a shout on enquiries@deartonyblair.co.uk

Wonderful old resin company back in the day.....also cast in dental plaster (thanks Chirine) so not sure at the moment if just smaller pieces were resin or if they moved into resin later etc. Info appreciated!

Took a while to scan and upload so hope you enjoy it!

3 pics taken off ebay from a while back not sure who's so unable to ask permission - apologies in advance but hope it's ok!
