Ral Partha Legacy - Tenoch invade the States!

Great news for fans of The Little Soldier Company - Jacob over at RPL has now released the Tenoch under licence for the USA and overseas territories. He's slowly releasing a bunch of miniatures from the company and all are cast in lead free pewter. No more weeks of customs and you can get your hands on these wonderful Kev Adams' sculpts.

You can also find the Khamai on the site and a number of accessories but you'll have to search until the website glitches are sorted. Please jump in and let Jacob know that I sent you!

Website glitches mostly sorted!

Unknown 25mm Gauls from the late 70's and some early Ral Partha...

Got a small job lot of minis the other day and it included a number of old historical minis, most easily recognisable, however there are two Gauls infantry that I can't pinpoint. Pictured below with a Hinchliffe rider. Ga1 and Ga3 on the bases respectively. Any thoughts? They're seriously nice sculpts and it'd be great to find some more.

I also came across some of my old Ral Partha minis. Some were from Wargames Publications (Scotland) Ltd who imported them in the later 70's (at a hefty 50p or more!) before Citadel/Games Workshop started producing them under licence. I've used the UK prefix as they're all from the early 'Personalities and Things That Go Bump in the Night' range. Most of these are the first versions produced and all Tom Meier sculpts who is, of course, still going strong producing minis for many companies such as Darksword and Ral Partha Unleashed.

ES43 Armored Knight

ES31 Dwarf Lord, ES24 "Foregum" Super Hero and ES22 Elf Lord

ES11 Vallor, Warrior of the Gods, ES15 Super Hero w. Axe and ES5 Winged Gremlin

ES13 Assassin, ES56 Enchanter and ES10 Hill Troll

ES28 Gremlin War Party

ES9 Barbarian Hero, 2nd version with some cotton and plastic bits added.

Most of the range can be seen on the Lost Minis WIKI;

Ral Partha Legacy have the Khamaí...

Well, they've finally sneaked over to America to join the hallowed ranks of some of the best sculpts in the hobby. Jacob Fathbruckner is doing a great job of releasing all the old Ral Partha sculpts and more. Most of the minis that Tom Meier sculpted back in the 70's are available again - I do have lots of them from back when Citadel produced them under licence (and a few that were imported by Wargames Publications (Scotland) Ltd)... many still in need of being painted. The new pieces Tom is sculpting are incredible and it's great to see the old ranges being expanded further.

The Khamaí are here;

Do take a good look around the RPL site, there's lots to see!

Ral Partha Chaos Wars new Kickstarter - Wave 4 - a Tom Meier cornucopia!

For me Tom Meier is one of the sculpting Gods of the hobby. I picked up examples of his work when Ral Partha were first imported into the UK by Wargames Publications (Scotland) Ltd in the later 70's. His work is just about second to none and I hate to think of how many unpainted sculpts of his I have sat around the house... Jacob Fathbruckner has taken on the task of Ral Partha Legacy and it is a worthy one indeed. Take a look at what the Kickstarter has to offer, link below.

Beyond that you've got regiment sets, giants, dragons, siege weaponry and more... pop over and pledge as Jacob tells me all the funding is going into producing the miniatures and then into getting more produced. Greater love hath no man.

A little bit of painting done... Hinchliffe, Archive & Tom Meier

As usual I am procrastinating regarding getting the next Kickstarter ready... I really am my own worst enemy as 'money's too tight to mention'. What goes on in this head of mine I really don't know! Between dog walking and painting minis I must squeeze in Noggin painting! A real mixed bunch here, two Citadel orcs, two Hinchliffe Models' Yonderley Men, two Archive Miniatures' historicals (Sassanid peasant levy and Gaul drawing sword) and a new Tom Meier elf from Darksword…

One Citadel Fantasy Tribe orc and a C15 one... the FT orcs are one of my favourite ranges... 15 codes, 13 of which were 'personalised' - about 20 (or more) versions of each sculpt. Makes collecting difficult!

Hinchliffe Models FA46 Yonderley Man with Spear and Shield. Sculpted by Peter Gilder, I'm pretty certain they used a brass button for the shield... something I've seen for Dragontooth and Minifigs before now.

FA45 Yonderley Man with Sword and Shield

Mike over at Broadsword Miniatures has all of the Hinchliffe fantasy back up and running - tell him I sent you!

Edit - image courtesy of Mike showing the master sculpted by Peter Gilder himself... and the guilty brass button! Get over to the link above and get some minis for your collection - tell him I sent you!

Great tribute blog to Peter Gilder; https://petergilderalifeinwargaming.blogspot.com/

Archive Miniatures 073 Sassanid Peasant Levy, sculpted by Nevile Stocken. Casting wasn't particularly good unfortunately but called out to be painted at long last...

061 Gaul Drawing Sword... a potentially lovely sculpt partly ruined by worn out moulds. Of the pack of three, this was the 'least worst'.

Tom Meier High Elf Warrior with Spear for Darksword Miniatures (available here). Tom has a life-size bronze (?) sculpt like this in his garden... pics on a link below...

More images of the garden version over on Jacob Fathbruckner's Ral Partha Legacy site here.

So, another few bits of the lead pile of shame painted... more to come.

If you enjoy the blog, please follow it and become a Politico (top left) - it makes me feel like I'm appreciated! Also, if you fancy buying me a coffee, I'm always grateful... blogging is thirsty work...

Any thoughts please do leave a comment and/or email me on enquiries@deartonyblair.co.uk

Ral Partha Legacy painted bits plus others...

Being the slowest painter in the multiverse does have its drawbacks but all things come to fruition... some lovely Tom Meier pieces from Ral Partha Legacy and some new Tenoch pike from me.

The Alice Kickstarter won't be too long now (finished lots more painting today) but, in the meantime, don't forget to become a Politico (top left, grow the lead revolution please) or even hit The Little Soldier Company banner at the top and pick up some pieces...

Minifigs Volkssturm finally painted......

Took some time as winter has set in along with the old SAD. Pics are a little bit naff but give me a few years and I may progress along those lines.....

VOLK01 Volkssturmmann, civilian dress, wide-brim hat and spectacles standing ready with Mosin-Nagant rifle

VOLK02 Aged Volkssturmmann wearing his old WW1 uniform and stahlhelm, advancing with Mauser Gewehr 98

VOLK03 Volkssturmmann, civilian dress, flat hat and scarf, standing ready with MP-1008

VOLK04 Old Volkssturmmann, civilian dress, uniform cap, kneeling with Panzerfaust

VOLK05 Hitler Youth in HJ attire, shouting with slung shotgun and holding 'Potato Masher' at the ready

VOLK06 Angry Woman firing Volkssturmgewehr 1-5

Oh, and just found a new Bob Charrette sculpt...Martian Flyer for his Parroom Station range...available here from Ral Partha Enterprises. This is a wonderful set of ranges sculpted over the years. Figures are a little slim (read realistic) compared to many other ranges however well worth a punt.
